We should be immensely grateful to our 5 senses organs for enabling us to perceive the diverse experiences of reality....However this can be inferred in 2 ways, we can either consider these sense organs as the informants of the reality or as the manipulators of reality .....
From the standpoint of second assumption, we have no other alternatives other than having absolute confidence in whatever being offered by the sense organs irrespective of its certitude because unfortunately we have no other medium other than these sense organs to ascertain the credibility of all that we are perceiving in this world. For instance if our eyes haven't had the ability to interpret colors, then we would have had no choice but to discern the real world as black and white....
Well these facts seem so much futile in our unambiguous world, so lets look upon the sense organs from a different perspective. Doubtless our sense organs are well defined yet it cannot be warranted that our sensory receptors are deciphering all the constituents of the real world. There could also be other dimensions in reality which our current intuitions cannot interpret.Just like light, sound waves or odor , there could be various other vibrations or signals traversing in this world and perhaps if we had another sense organ to unveil its features, it could have provided us a much wider insight into reality.
But for now eye is the most dominant sense organ followed by ears then by tongue, skin, and nose.
I am of the opinion that 80 - 90 % of the real world will be concealed in the absence eyes...without ears I believe that 30 - 40% of the real world is obscure and without the other 3 senses 5 - 10% of the actual world remains uninformed.
Evidently these percentages are applicable to our desires and judgments as well. For example at least some of us would have had an experience of conversing with an opposite gender with a very attractive voice over the phone such that it may even evoke an interest until an actual meeting disclosing the unappealing looks. Here the subject was appealing to one sense organ but not to the more important one and hence leading to a disappointing conclusion and rejection. In this world our eyes are peerless so most of our decisions harmonize with the judgement of our eyes and most of our activities are programmed to gratify the eyes.
The only reason why eyes have this monopoly over other sense organs is merely because of the absence of a much dominant sense organ. As mentioned above "there could be various other vibrations or signals traversing in this world and perhaps if we had another sense organ to unveil its features, it could have provided us a much wider insight into reality" For example let me introduce a fictive sense organ and name this 6th sense organ as "X" .This new sense would have its own unique features and could decipher an unknown dimension and could provide a better visibility on to this world. As per our assumption this sense organ would surpass the qualities of eyes and is way more superior than the eyes.
Let us analyse the influence of "X" on us.Undoubtedly "X" is very much capable of replacing eyes as the most dominant sense organ and hence our actions and thoughts will be reorganized to please "X".Subsequently it will alter our beliefs, interests and preferences and it may even unveil a new instinct within us.What all were initially appealing to the eyes will have to take a back seat just as ears being secondary to the eyes, eyes will become secondary to "X".This points that the concept of beauty, flamboyance and attraction will be redefined and will now be dictated by "X".
As we know neither do we look at any modes to impress someone's ears nor we usually conceive someone's beauty through our ears similarly all our efforts to captivate someone's eyes will be ceased after the inception of "X".This also denotes that all the beauty parlors, fashion outlets, fancy stores and other makeovers corners will eventually become redundant and will be replaced by establishments to cater to the needs of "X".
In short appending "X" to our body will surely become one of the most breathtaking, wonderful and dramatic experience exactly like a blind man getting eyes.
Unfortunately no "X" is present in today's world and not in the least will be present in the near future. In fact we cannot even conceptualize about an "X".The idea of this blog was to show how pointless and fluctuating are our thoughts and notions in this unreal world.
I would like to conclude this blog by reiterating the importance of our irreplaceable and priceless sense organs. So enjoy life through these sense organs rather than getting mislead through them.
Thanks for reading!!!!
